Old Town PJ for breakfast

All in twos

Today was like any other day in Malaysia - trying to make the hard decision on what to do first!  I decided that it was going to be an easier day and grabed my camera, spare battery and the old 25mm Voigtlander lens that I haven't shot with for quite some time.  I was hungry so first stop was going to be old town PJ and a wander through the markets with a little roti canai and murtabak on the way,  I love these very local indoor markets as there is a little hussle and bustle but at the same time quite relaxing to browse through.

Beauty, Serenity and the Olympus OM-D E-M5 underwater

A landscape of colours

Down here, under the water, there is none of the hustle and bustle of the concrete jungles many of us live in, there are no urgent deadlines and no stresses.  It is a place of beauty and serenity which has barely been explored - but holds so many hidden treasures if you take the time to look carefully.  During my latest diving adventures I decided to take the Olympus OM-D E-M5 mounted in a nauticam housing with me.  I made several dives with either the Olympus 60mm Macro lens or Panasonic 7-14mm lens mounted on the camera.

Playing with the Olympus 17mm f/1.8 on the streets of Kuala Lumpur

The butcher

I am now back in one of my favourite countries shooting on the streets (and underwater - but more on that in the next post).  On arriving in Malaysia, I didn't know whether to eat first or grab the camera or do both.  I opted for doing both in the end as there is so much good food here, especially during Ramadan.  I decided that after my Asam Laksa I would hit the streets with the Olympus 17mm f/1.8 lens mounted on the Olympus OM-D E-M5.  I have not really got into using this lens as I also own the voigtlander 17.5mm lens and that has been my favourite for so long now.

here's looking at you

Its been a little while in between posts.  The last 4 weeks have been extremely busy in all regards.  On the photography side I have been continuing to do shoot after shoot (including a little playing with a Sony NEX in an unmaned areial vehicle UAV).  I have been using the Panasonic GH3 for more and more video these days and coupled together with the 17.5mm Voigtlander lens it is a brillant combination (ohhh - and a variable ND filter helps as well).
