Saint Petersburg in a couple of days

st petersburg in the rain

This post like me previous post is quite lengthy (apologies for all the images and a lack of words). Following on from my previous post on Moscow, I again try to share a little about the amazing city of Saint Petersburg in Russia. This city, like Moscow is quite beautiful with some amazing history. Unfortunately during the time I was there I only had a few hours of sunshine so had to walk quite a few kilometers in one day to capture some of the city. I ventured to the most popular sites and then tried to find a few local sites and markets that were a little off the beaten track.

A street photographers view of Moscow

The Kremlin - Moscow

I am currently in Moscow for a UNESCO meeting and managed to get out for a walk and a few photos prior to the meeting. In this series of photos I have again tried to present a street photographers view of Moscow and its streets. The city of Moscow is one of much beauty, history and culture with many of its streets giving forth to a new and exciting adventure. I found the best way to explore Moscow was to just walk - but found it important to dress wisely as the temperatures would drop to negative 6 at times and there was often slippery ice on the paths. Being November - there seems to be a mix of cold weather, sunshine, rain and snow all within days of each other.

In this series of photos I have tried to present a small glimpse in to the vibrant and varied life of Hong Kong.  Some of these photos were taken while walking the streets with Seungki - see his awesome street pics at http://www.flickr.com/photos/seungki/ This is a culmination of a photos I have taken over a couple of days and I have tried to include a few colour photos in this series as opposed to my last series which was all Black and White.

Hong Kong in Black and White

ohhhhhh

The last couple of days have been spent roaming the streets in Hong Kong during my spare time and I got this sudden urgency to process a large collection of my photos in black and white.  I am not sure what drove me to do this but I will endeavour to post a few in colour soon.  While all photos were processed into B&W no cropping was done and full exif information should be in tact.  Approximately half of the photos were taken with the fully manual Voigtlander lens.
